Overview

Holding on to its authentic Caribbean charm and a way of life from the past, Grenada the “Spice Island” is an evocative, tranquil and aromatic classic beauty.  Blessed with one of the most picturesque harbors in the Caribbean, the stone and brick buildings, dating back to the 18th century, evoke a bygone era. Narrow streets wind up and down steep hills where buildings sport red roofs and brightly colored walls. There’s an easy-going cadence that is warm and alive in the waterfront town of St. George’s.

The island is one gigantic garden full of tropical flowers, fruit and spice trees. Iconic nutmeg trees grow in the interior along with cinnamon, cloves, cocoa and bananas. A look at the production process and how the fruit is prepared for market is seen at the Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Station. West Coast beaches allure with calm seas and soft sands, and the mountainous interior is a tapestry of hills, valleys, and tumbling waterfalls.
